Victoria Brownlee (PWW ’16) has debuted two France-based novels in the past two years, including Fromage à Trois (entitled Escape to the Paris Cheese Shop in the UK) and A Brioche in the Oven (aka Escape to the French Farmhouse). Bloomsbury published The Bitter Pill Social Club, a debut novel by Rohan Dahiya (PWW ’12) in 2018. Tommy Pico (PWW ’11) whose latest poetry collection Junk debuted in 2018, was featured in an Los Angeles Review of Books article entitled “Canoodling with Junk Food.”
“Finding Myself While Teaching Abroad in London,” a travel essay developed in Paris by Julie Pesano (PWW ’18, ’19) was featured GeoEx’s Wanderlust in March of 2019. Kaori Fujimoto (PWW ’11, ’12) has recently published a number of essays, including “Taipei Streets (with a Japanese Eye)” in Wanderlust Journal, “A Bond” in Star 82 Review, and an essay in The Best of Wanderlust 2019. Her essay about death and dying in Japan is forthcoming in The Threepenny Review. “Homeland,” a poem by Marissa Davis (PWW ’15) appeared in Rattle, and “You Don’t Like Boys?” an essay by Molly Sprayregen (PWW ’12) appeared in INTO. ”
“10 Bela Road,” a story by Sonal Kohli (PWW ’10), appeared in Blackbird. Emily Ding (PWW ’11) has published work in the Washington Post, Roads and Kingdoms, Wanderlust,Esquire Malaysia, and Vice Asia. “No Better, No Worse,” a short film directed by Channing Sargent (PWW ’14), appeared in several film festivals, including the Hollywood Screenings Film Festival, the Burbank International Film Festival, the Utah Film Festival, and the Windy City International Film Festival. “Inpatient,” a loose-anthology series about strangers who coexist in a New York psych ward and how they cope with their mental illness, was created and cowritten by Robert Walker Jeffery (PWW ’13).
